ABOUT US

The All Animals Initiative for Multispecies Community Building is a centralized network of scientists, artists, students, and educators collaborating to empower and connect multispecies communities around the globe.

Through rigorous scholarship, creative practice, and public engagement, our “Living Laboratory” based at the NYU Washington Square campus seeks to generate new knowledge about how multispecies communities function.  By improving our understanding of the mechanisms and consequences of living in healthy and strongly connected multispecies communities, our work engages with questions about the hidden complexity of animal lives, interspecies social relationships, animal welfare, environmental protection, and our sense of shared belonging.

To explore the scholarship behind AAI, please visit the WATR-lab website for more information about the research group that serves as the foundation to our work.
